Hypnosis is not a type of psychotherapy, rather it is used as a tool or technique that allows a person to access information at a subconscious level.  By relaxing the conscious mind, hypnosis facilitates clarity of thoughts.  An individual will to learn to use their own mind along with the power of suggestion, in order to overcome difficulties, change certain behaviors,  achieve goals, or manage emotional distress or physical symptoms.
